NAS Hard Drive Deals - Prime Big Deal Days 2026
Live prices updated · 21 in-stock products · tracked since March 23, 2026 · prices in this category are re-checked about once a day on a rolling cycle - the time above is our newest price, not every row's
Running now through October 7. Next deal drop: 1 p.m. PT.
New NAS hard drives only, each with CMR sourced to the maker for its exact part number, sorted by price per terabyte and badged against the drive's own recorded price. 1 of 21 sit at or near their own recorded low today. A drive whose price has not moved reads TYPICAL, because an unchanged price is not a low.
We measure every price against that item's OWN recorded history, not against a list price - list prices get raised before a sale, which is documented and cited on this site's event pages. A verdict badge means: AT/NEAR LOW is close to the lowest price we recorded for that item over the days we tracked it in the last 30 - each badge prints that number of days - in a record where its price has actually moved (a price that has not moved is not a low, and reads TYPICAL); TYPICAL is ordinary for it; ELEVATED is above where it usually sits; NEW means we have not tracked it long enough to say. No percentage-off-list figure appears anywhere on this site as a measure of whether a price is actually good.
The evidence for why we do it this way is our own: the June 2026 Prime Day retrospective measured whether the last comparable event moved prices, category by category, before any of these pages were written.
Live nas hard drives picks, verdict-badged
Today's verdict distribution: 1 of 21 in-stock items are at or near their own recorded low today; 16 are typical for themselves; 4 are elevated above their own usual price. Each count compares an item with its own recorded price; no past price is printed for any listing.
CMR, sourced - not assumed
A NAS rebuilds its array by reading every drive end to end, and drive makers recommend conventional magnetic recording (CMR) for that work. A listing that says CMR is the seller's word. This page lists a drive only when the maker's own documentation states CMR for that exact part number - the rule our best NAS drive verdicts already use - so some genuine CMR drives are missing until their part number is sourced.
Every row is a new drive. Recertified NAS drives are a separate question, measured model for model on our recertified pages.
Price per terabyte, then the badge
The table sorts by price per terabyte, the number that decides what a NAS costs to fill. The badge then says whether today's price is low for that particular drive. A cheap terabyte that is ordinary for its drive is still a cheap terabyte; a low that is still dearer per terabyte than the next capacity down is still dearer.
To price a whole array rather than one drive, our fill lists total the drives a given NAS takes.
What June's Prime Day measured for this category
Our June 2026 retrospective measured NAS HDD. On the matched-model index, where each listing is compared only with its own earlier price, the category moved an unmeasurable amount from the 30 days before the event through its last day (2026-06-23 to 2026-06-26), with at least 0 listings matched at every step. Among listings whose price had actually moved, 0.0% sat at their own recorded low during the event (7 listings), against 0.0% in an ordinary week - no more lows than usual.
The trap: a NAS line name on an SMR drive
Not every drive in a NAS family is CMR. WD's plain Red line is the documented case; other makers' entry lines vary by capacity. A family name in a title says which shelf a drive sits on, not how it records.
If a drive you want is missing here, its recording technology is not sourced for that part number yet - check the maker's data sheet before you buy it for an array.
An event is not a reason to fill a NAS. Most NAS drives barely moved during June's Prime Day on our own measurement. If a drive you need reads AT/NEAR LOW, that is a real low for that drive; if it reads TYPICAL, today is an ordinary day for it.

Frequently asked questions
Why is a drive I know is CMR missing from this page?
Because its CMR is not yet sourced to the maker for that exact part number. We list 21 new NAS drives whose recording technology is; the rest await sourcing rather than a guess.
When is Prime Big Deal Days 2026?
October 6-7, 2026, starting at 12:01 a.m. Pacific time on October 6 and running 48 hours. Announced by Amazon on September 14-15, 2026.
What time do deals drop?
Amazon's own announcement states new deals launch three times a day during the event: 12:01 a.m., 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Pacific time. The status banner above shows the next scheduled drop once the event is live.
Do I need Amazon Prime for these deals?
Yes, per Amazon's own terms: Prime Big Deal Days deals are exclusive to Prime members. A free trial is available through Amazon directly if you are not already a member; we do not sell or administer Prime membership.
Should I wait for Black Friday instead?
That depends on the category, not the calendar. Check the verdict badge on the specific item you want in both events rather than assuming one event is categorically better - our Black Friday storage deals page uses the same live-data approach for that event, and enterprise and refurbished drives rarely move much for either sale (see the section below).
