How to choose a Solidigm enterprise SSD

Start with the write profile rather than headline sequential speed. Capacity SSDs are designed to store much more data per device, while mixed-use and high-endurance models reserve more NAND and controller resources for sustained writes.

Next verify form factor, PCIe generation, cooling, hot-plug support and firmware qualification in the target server. A U.2 drive and an E3.S drive can share NVMe protocol while requiring different bays, backplanes and mechanical retention.

Capacity flash and performance flash solve different problems

D5-P5336 and D5-P5430 use QLC NAND to optimize density and read economics. They fit large datasets, object stores, content repositories and other workloads where reads dominate writes.

D7-PS1010 and D7-PS1030 use TLC NAND and PCIe Gen5. PS1030 trades some usable capacity per device for three-drive-writes-per-day endurance, making it the stronger choice when write amplification, logs, database changes or cache churn are material.
