Capacity and system layout
P5336 can reduce the number of devices, bays and PCIe lanes required for a large data set. P5430 provides more granular capacity steps for ordinary server nodes and can avoid placing too much data in one failure domain.
The best density is not always the largest drive. Rebuild time, spare cost, node balance and fault-domain design can make more smaller devices operationally preferable.
Performance and endurance
Both families are read-intensive QLC designs. Their headline read rates are similar enough that system architecture and workload often matter more than a small specification difference.
Endurance is capacity dependent. Compare exact PBW and expected host writes; do not apply the highest family DWPD figure to every ordering option.
Form factors and price per TB
P5430 includes E1.S options in addition to U.2 and E3.S. P5336 expands into E1.L for very high capacity. Those form factors require different bays and may imply different cooling designs.
