This compatibility hub covers HPE 26TB Business Critical LFF drives, P80577-B21 SAS and P80578-B21 SATA, only where current HPE documentation has been checked.
Server generation alone is not enough. The server must have the right LFF chassis, backplane, controller, firmware and option suffix for the exact drive.
DL380 Gen12 has the clearest current HPE documentation for both 26TB SAS and SATA options. DL360 Gen11 and ML350 Gen11 require LFF-specific configuration checks before ordering.
Verify the part number, carrier, firmware, sector format and server or storage-array qualification before ordering. A bare mechanism or third-party compatible listing can be useful, but it is an alternative unless it is sold as the qualified OEM kit or spare you need.
Only rows with verified HPE documentation are included. A physical 3.5-inch bay is not enough; the option must be qualified for the exact server, chassis and controller path.

The interface headline is only one line item. Qualification, carrier, controller and firmware path decide whether the drive is actually buyable for your system.

Workload rating is recorded per part number from the manufacturer's published data for that exact model where available, not blanketed across the line — two drives of the same capacity can differ because they are different generations. A dash means the figure is not stated for that listing. Recording technology comes from the manufacturer's published CMR/SMR list; a model absent from that list is shown as UNVERIFIED rather than guessed. Rows priced above 3× this line's in-stock median are flagged and excluded from the winner callout and from every median we compute.
This table is computed from live DatacenterDisk rows when an exact in-stock match exists. It is intentionally blank for unavailable models rather than filled with stale prices.

The HPE 26TB options here are LFF low-profile drives. SFF and EDSFF server builds do not become 3.5-inch capacity platforms with adapters, and a model name alone does not tell you which bay layout is installed.
HPE Smart Array or HBA support is part of the compatibility decision. The drive may need the current firmware path and an option suffix appropriate to the server family.
Avoid mixing capacity, sector format or interface inside a production drive group unless the HPE controller documentation explicitly supports the combination and the operational risk is acceptable.
Start with the exact server page: DL380 Gen12, DL360 Gen11 or ML350 Gen11. Then confirm the drive option in HPE's current QuickSpecs.
No. LFF physical fit is only one requirement. HPE qualification, controller support and firmware decide the answer.
Treat the purchase as conditional and verify the exact system configuration or official option matrix before ordering.
