No, and which P300 you have changes why. Toshiba names the 4TB and 6TB retail P300 models as shingled in its own SMR statement, while the 1TB to 3TB models are conventionally recorded. Either way the P300 is a desktop line, and Toshiba's N300 is the NAS one.
This is one of the clearest examples of why family-level advice fails. Toshiba's P300 spans two entirely different mechanisms under one product name.
The 1TB, 2TB and 3TB models use the DT01-A series mechanism at 7200rpm and are conventionally recorded. The retail SKUs are the HDWD110, HDWD120 and HDWD130.
The 4TB and 6TB models use the DT02 series mechanism at 5400rpm, and Toshiba's own product overview for that series states drive-managed shingled recording. Toshiba names the retail HDWD240 and HDWD260 in its April 2020 SMR statement.
So a P300 can be conventional or shingled, at different rotational speeds, depending only on which capacity you picked. The name is identical.

The P300 is specified against a desktop duty cycle. Toshiba's documentation for this class quotes a workload figure in the region of 55TB per year at around 2400 powered hours annually, which describes a machine used during the day rather than one that never switches off.
The N300 is rated at 180TB per year with a three-year warranty and is built for continuous multi-bay operation, conventionally recorded across the line. That is the same tiering Seagate applies with IronWolf and Western Digital with Red Plus, for the same reasons.
Vibration handling and error-recovery timing follow the same split. Desktop firmware can spend long enough retrying a bad sector that a RAID controller concludes the drive has failed and ejects it, which is a healthy drive dropped from an array for being thorough.
Toshiba's own answer is the N300, and the equivalents from the other two makers are Seagate IronWolf and WD Red Plus. All are conventionally recorded throughout, so the recording question disappears rather than needing to be checked per model.
If you already own a 1TB to 3TB P300 and want to use it in a low-stakes array with current backups, that is a decision you can make knowingly, the recording technology will not sabotage a rebuild. It is still outside its rated duty cycle.
If you own a 4TB or 6TB P300, keep it out of a parity array. That is the shingled half of the range and a rebuild is exactly the workload it handles worst.
