MG11 is the better fit when bays are scarce and a 24TB CMR Toshiba drive avoids adding shelves or replacing enclosures. It is also the cleaner starting point for new Toshiba-standardized enterprise builds.
The 1GiB buffer and higher published sustained-transfer figure are useful specs, but they should not be turned into a benchmark claim. The operational win is usually density and platform age.
MG10 and MG10F still make sense when the live market prices them aggressively or when a fleet has already qualified the model. Replacement drives in an existing pool often value compatibility and spare simplicity over the newest capacity.
